Fail-Safe MHD module

MHD Z032079

A "Fail-Safe" module allows to add a safety to the model, when the radio controller is not equipped with such a function: This module is inserted on the track to be protected, for example the engine control. In case of signal interruption or disturbances, the module forces the track to a predetermined position, example engine stop.

The use is very simple: The module connects between the servo or the drive to be secured and the radio controller receiver. The desired safety position is set using the small "SET" button of the module. Adjustment is only necessary during the first use.

Set-up procedure:

  1. Connect the servo to the female socket on the "Fail-safe" module.
  2. Connect the male plug from the "Fail-safe" module to the desired channel on the receiver.
  3. Switch on the transmitter and receiver. The module's LED will light up green and remain steady, indicating that it is operational.
  4. Set the servo control to the desired position as the fail-safe position.
  5. Hold down the "SET" button on the module until the red LED flashes three times and then remains lit; the green LED will then go out. The position is now saved.
  6. Programming is complete.
  7. To test: ensure the model cannot move, set the servo to any position, then switch off the transmitter. The red LED will flash rapidly and continuously to indicate a loss of signal, and the servo should move to the preset position.
