Humbrol's enamel paintings (also called Enamel)are diluted with specific diluent and the brush cleans with white spirit and then water.
Enamel Humbrol paintings are recommended for experienced model makers. Beginners will usually prefer acrylic paint.

Use

Solvent-based paint, quick-drying, developed for use on plastic models, but can also be used on other surfaces. Matte, satin, glossy, metallic, metallic and transparent finishes are available (the finish varies depending on the color).

Surfaces.

A wide range of surfaces including most plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, plaster and much more (always try on a small test area to check its compatibility).

Blanket.

The 14 ml pot covers approx. 0.3m² depending on the thickness of application.

Application

With brush: To be used directly from the pot. Airbrush: Lengthen with a suitable diluent such as Humbrol AC7501enamel thinners. Two thin layers are preferable to a thick layer. The usual dilution ratio is 2 parts paint to 1 part diluent. Note that Metalcote colors are designed to be polished when completely dry.

Drying time

• Glossy: 1-2 hours
• Matt & Satin: Dry to the touch in 20-40 minutes, heart drying in 24 hours.
• Metallic: Complete drying approx. 10 days.
• Drying times vary depending on room temperature and humidity.
• Next layer: 6 hours minimum (preferably leave one night)

How to clean:

Brushes: use enamel Humbrol AC7501 paint thinners
Airbrush: rinse thoroughly with Enamel Humbrol AC7501 paint thinners.
The product is permanent once dry.
