T2M’s Pirate XT-V is the ideal way into the world of 1/10 RC trucks. Everything is in the box: the car comes fully assembled, with a pre-installed 2.4 GHz radio, 7.2 V 1800 mAh Ni-MH battery and USB charger. Apart from 4 AA batteries for the transmitter, there’s nothing else to buy: just charge up and drive.
Its 550-size 15-turn electric motor delivers lively performance while remaining easy to use and maintain – a great choice for learning to drive. It’s paired with a forward / reverse / brake ESC and a full-time 4WD drivetrain on ball bearings, with two bevel-gear differentials and a spur gear protected in a sealed housing.
The chassis makes no compromises: a blue anodised aluminium plate, independent suspension, big-bore oil-filled shocks with adjustable preload and chevron-tread tyres to tackle dirt, grass or tarmac. Front and rear toe are adjustable via turnbuckles, and the radio sits in a protective box. A solid platform that can grow with its driver.
