Do not connect without resistors! The resistor value varies depending on the desired brightness. 

For use at 7.2V with the following brightness levels:

• Low: add 1,000-ohm resistors
• Medium: add 680-ohm resistors
• High: Add 300-ohm resistors

For use at 12V with the following brightness levels:

• Low: Add 2,000-ohm resistors
• Medium: Add 1,500-ohm resistors
• High: Add 680-ohm resistors
