Discover the renovated 2023 wooden model of the French Doris "Saint-Malo". Originally from Canada, this fishing boat had long been used on schooners in Massachusetts and Nova Scotia, and was later introduced to France, Spain and Portugal.

Dories were carried by mother ships, usually schooners on whose decks they were stacked, and were used by one or two crew members on the Newfoundland banks to fish for cod.

During the day, they returned to the mother ship several times to unload their catch. Because of their sturdiness, low cost and ease of stowage, dories continued to be used as workboats on sailboats and many other motorboats.

The kit:

Build a 1:20 scale model of the "Saint-Malo", a French dory from the late 19th century.
