The Ariadne is a classic sailboat of the early twentieth century, rigged as a sloop. This type of sailboat was designed for elegant lines and simple navigation. The original design is by Manfred Groening, then was later improved by Manfred Kaiser-Pletscher (MKP Modellbau) for a modern production of an excellent assembly kit.

This kit is designed as a complete kit, and therefore contains the mast, rigging, booms, sails and all the equipment that is necessary for the rigging. Similarly, the kit includes all hardware components. Only an additional propulsion set with an electric motor, propeller shaft, propeller is - if desired - available as an option. The sail servo(s) and the radio control system must also be supplied separately.

The hull is made of fiberglass and the rest of the components made of laser-cut wood or metal (brass or aluminum), which facilitates the construction of the model. Many engraved wooden and brass accessories give the model this classic look.

The sails are pre-cut and included in the kit. The jib is fitted with a boom. A Genoa is available as an accessory (sold separately). The mast and booms are aluminum profiles.

The installation of the sails can be done either with a classic jib or by the installation of a Genoa (Genoa sail kit sold separately). In this case, the installation of 2 additional sail winches is necessary.
