MS Finnmarken Kit 1/60

After the war, Norway's "Hurtigruten" fleet (which links 34 ports on Norway's Atlantic coast) had to be rebuilt, and new ships were needed. In 1956, the M/S Finnmarken entered service on the Norwegian coast. She was the first ship in Hurtigruten's "new line" to feature a stern loader superstructure.

The M/S Finnmarken emerged as the prototype for a series of "Hurtigruten" ships that entered service in the late 1950s and first half of the 1960s. In addition, the M/S Ragnvald Jarl was built to the same plans as Finnmarken. They were sister ships, although sailing for different shipping companies. Since 1993, the M/S Finnmarken has been laid up and is part of the Hurtigruten Museum in Stokmarknes.

For the development of the M/S Finnmarken kit, Modell-Tec was able to use the original drawings from the Hamburg shipyard Blohm & Voss, from which she was built and delivered in 1956. The model is accurately reproduced in 1:60 scale, has a wonderfully beautiful hull and comes with a full set of decor! The superstructures can be opened to view the saloon furnishings. What's more, the model can be lit by LEDs inside and out. The kit is designed for use with propulsion and remote control on the water, but can also be used as a static model. The sticker set supplied contains lettering of the sister ships M/S Finnmarken, M/S Ragnvald Jarl and M/S Sjøkurs with NRK "Summer Boat" logos.

The kit includes an illustrated building instruction with text passages and a parts list in English. French instructions included in the box.
