Here's a reissue of an iconic boat model from the Robbe range with the well-known "Düsseldorf" fire boat.

The real ship:

The "Düsseldorf" fireboat was developed and built by Rheinwerft of Mainz-Mombach and operated in Germany's industrial Ruhr region. The vessel is specially designed to deal with disaster situations such as a ship on fire, a major oil spill or a port system in danger of explosion. Its fire monitors, operating at a pressure of 10.5 bar, can deliver water or foam up to 45 m high and at a distance of up to 95 m. The two V12 engines produce a total of 930kW (1260BHP), giving the boat a top speed of around 37km/h.

The model:

The RoMarin kit of the "Düsseldorf" fireboat is large enough and spacious enough to accommodate all the equipment needed to reproduce the many functions of the real vessel. Optional features include fire monitors, crane, anchor winch, radar, searchlights, blue flasher, horn and siren, and diesel engine sound. The plastic hull is molded in a thick-walled material and offers plenty of space for the many mechanical and electronic parts required for auxiliary systems.

The model is powered by two tried-and-tested MAX Gear power systems (not included), giving it a highly realistic sailing speed. Four large rudders guarantee extreme maneuverability, both forwards and backwards. The fire hoses can be swivelled horizontally and vertically from the transmitter, and with the recommended electric gear pump, they can fire a jet of water over a distance of 6 to 8 m. If a working boat crane is fitted, the dinghy (with a vacuum-molded hull ) can be lifted, passed overboard and lowered into the water as in reality.
